Southwark Council’s instructions to ARUP engineers

In the Ledbury Estate’s weekly council newsletter of 2nd November, the brief given to ARUP by the Council was finally revealed.

ARUP have been instructed to let Southwark know what works the four tower blocks on the estate would need to bring them up to modern standards, including meeting the current building regulations and any further works required to give the towers a further 50 years

One resident commented: ‘It’s an ambitious brief but Southwark Council should agree to spend whatever is necessary to bring these towers up to standard. I believe that they’ve completely neglected our homes for years.’

The ARUP engineers full report is due out on Monday 20th November.
